AGACAD becomes Autodesk AEC Industry Partner for Wood Framing

PRESS RELEASE – Vilnius, 4 February 2020

We are pleased to announce that our Wood Framing BIM Solution for Revit has been recognized as an AEC Industry Partner solution by Autodesk. It joins our Precast Concrete software, which made us one of the first AEC Industry Partners back in October 2018.

“This is recognition of the value that our add-on solutions provide – the time, money and stress that they save – for Revit users all over the world by automating much of their work and adding powerful new functionality for specific industries, regions and firms. We look forward to engaging even more with Autodesk to address the ever-evolving real-life needs of BIM professionals,” says Donatas Aksomitas, the CEO of AGACAD.

AEC Industry Partners are trusted technology providers that Autodesk selects for their discipline-specific solutions which complement its own offerings. Partners build on top of Autodesk’s BIM and cloud platforms to enable customers to work more efficiently, deliver better designs, and reduce waste. The designation of AEC Industry Partners is part of a strategy for bringing new and transformational technologies into industry workflows.

“We see partners like AGACAD as being critical to helping our engineering customers deliver BIM-based services in a more profitable way. They are able to provide the needed automation and customization for factories to scale up their businesses more quickly,” said Michael Gustafson, Autodesk’s Industry Strategy Manager for Structural Engineering.

New BIM Classification System on the Way: AGACAD’s Contribution to the New BIM Standard Development

In Europe, the testing of a new construction classification standard is on its way. The new BIM classification standard is being developed in Denmark by cuneco, a centre for productivity in construction. The new BIM classification standard is very important for the European Union, and there has been general interest worldwide as well.

cuneco

The new BIM classification standard can easily be adapted by any country. By May 2014, cuneco aims to develop and implement the most advanced construction classification system CCS (cuneco classification system) which will replace the current Danish construction classification (Dansk Bygge Klassifikation, DBK).

The cuneco team is developing a common basis for digitized cooperation in construction. Its main goal is to increase efficiency and productivity through better exchange of BIM project information. Moreover, cuneco is working on the international perspective through its work on ISO-revision and cooperation with buildingSMART. The cuneco project is internationally significant, as it will contribute to the development of international building standards. The information of the standard ISO 12006 will be adjusted after the new BIM classification system is implemented, the development of which is financed by the European Regional Development Fund, the Danish Government, and the construction industry.

ARUP Implements tools4revit Productivity Solutions Globally

AGA CAD Ltd. is pleased to announce the strategic partnership between Arup, the global engineering and design firm and AGA CAD, a developer of BIM solutions and Revit extensions under the tools4revit trademark. Arup employees are driven to find a better way to work and use the best design software. This month Arup has purchased AGA CAD network licenses in bulk and started implementing them throughout the entire company.

“As we are a multi-discipline design practice, the Revit suite has been a natural fit for our Buildings practice and we have standardized this over the past few years. The addition of the tools4revit suite from AGA CAD has helped us fill in the gaps that are in the software when applied to our design methodology“, says Carl Collins, CAD Manager at Arup Associates, the unified design group within Arup.

Arup has been looking for productivity-boosting BIM solutions for a long time. Carl Collins, Arup CAD Manager, explains “We looked at various solutions, from interacting directly with Autodesk, to authoring our own tools in-house, both of which have improved our efficiency and the base product. But the tools4revit suite has added many of the tools that we need, at a fraction of the cost of writing them internally and with a speed of response that very large organizations like Autodesk could not achieve“.
