Wood framing BIM & 3D modeling software for prefabricated timber frame system design in Revit®
For structural engineering, detailing, documentation & construction

Top Revit® users call AGACAD’s portfolio of Wood Framing solutions the most powerful and flexible BIM software on the market for constructions of single or multi-layer timber-framed walls, floors, and roofs. The product group also encompasses solutions for framing prefabricated panels, rafters, and trusses, as well as specialized solutions for designing buildings comprising structural insulated panels (SIPs), cross-laminated timber (CLT), or heavy timber (also called massive timber or post-and-beam).
Advanced automation and built-in best practices help BIM professionals make optimal choices, move faster, and avoid errors at every stage – from design and documentation to fabrication and construction.
With our Revit-based timber framing software, it’s easy to quickly batch-add, modify or mark just the right elements or parameters, distribute hardware and fastener details, manage openings and connections, and find clashes. Frames dynamically update and adapt if modifications are made, ensuring that shop drawings and cut lists are always accurate.
Architects using our timber framing Revit extensions can quickly frame out a rough 3D model, allowing key decisions to be made early on in the project design. With our BIM software, all you need to do is set the configurations and the tool builds the model for you. Forget about manually drawing every plate, stud, joist, girder, rafter and truss. Structural engineers – since it’s a BIM model, shop drawings are automatically generated, and if, say, a framed opening needs to be modified, shop tickets will reflect those changes.

Wood Framing featured by Autodesk
AGACAD becomes Autodesk AEC Industry Partner for Wood Framing
PRESS RELEASE – Vilnius, 4 February 2020
AGACAD Wood Framing design software. Making your job in Revit much simpler and much less stressful. And way faster.

DESIGN
Whether you’re designing single-story residential or multi-story commercial buildings, our Wood Framing design software delivers accurate and efficient modeling in Revit. The Multi-Framing feature for copying and updating framing elements and documentation for identical walls, floors and roofs radically reduces the time needed to model large-scale projects. Analytical lines of individual panel frames are inter-connected and aligned in the same plane, so they can be exported to structural analysis software and further processed to create a full analytical model.
INTEGRATE
Coordination of BIM teams is greatly enhanced by integrating WF Suite with the Cut Opening BIM Solution, which identifies structural and engineering clashes throughout your Revit® model and creates openings with fire safety components for all MEP services and building structures at the relevant intersections.
FABRICATE
Frames created with WF Suite may be exported for production to Weinmann, Randek, Hundegger, or other CNC machines or CAD/CAM production lines. Optional CNC export is good for workflow integration, eliminates duplicate work and reduces room for error.

Wood Framing SIPS makes framing with structural insulated panels – prefabricated building components for use as walls, floors and roofs – fast and easy with real-time, full-project updates in Revit®. Plus the software generates views with automatic dimensions for panels or segments as well as accurate bills of materials and shop drawings. So quality production and accurate assembly on site are ensured.

Design heavy-timber framing in Revit
Wood Framing OAK lets Revit® users instantly frame heavy-timber walls, floors, and roofs, create post-&-beam structures, export analytical lines of wood frames to external structural analysis software, and generate custom shop drawings. Functions are versatile, parameters easy to control, and changes occur in real time. No more drafting – just design and decide, knowing you’ll get a high-quality model.

Export multi-layered wooden frames from Revit to automated production lines
AGACAD CNC Exporters automatically assemble all framing members per user definitions and send all necessary data to various CNC machines and CAD/CAM production lines for flexible manufacturing of wood houses.
AGACAD currently offers CNC Exporters for the most popular CNC machines for timber frame prefabrication. The software can be adapted for any other CNC machines if needed. Existing exports can easily be adapted to other CNC machines if it reads the same file extensions. The BTL file extension, for example, is used worldwide.

Testimonials
Owner of Timber Works Inc., USA
"Wood Framing takes the guess work out of the framing and ensures that we are able to offer our clients the highest standard of construction."
Business Improvement Manager at Trivselhus AB, Sweden
“Wood Framing was the tool we’d been searching for. It offers us many time-saving synergies. It’s flexible and built to automate everything, but the designer can easily make changes manually.”
Senior CAD & BIM Technician for Structural Engineering at Thorson • Baker + Associates, Inc. (TBA), United States
“AGACAD’s Wood Framing Suite is a great solution for anyone working in Revit who is looking for a more comprehensive, efficient and intuitive system for modeling roof structures. It’s intuitive and innovative and has saved us quite a bit of time, especially in the revising and updating of roofs. It’s made modeling and laying out roof trusses easier. It has given substance to our models, which is extremely beneficial to our clients. Being able to model the structures we need has also really helped coordination with clients.”
Panel Designer at Deltec Homes, Inc., USA
“My colleagues and I are very happy with the much-improved quality of the shop drawings I’m able to produce with Wood Framing Wall. I’m now working directly from the same model we generate all our plans from, so the potential for error is much reduced. I also now have control over my deliverables for the shop: I can include a lot more information than before, and I can exclude unnecessary information that used to clutter up panel sheets. One example of major improvements is that sheathing used to be just listed in a table, now it’s all drawn out graphically and easy to understand, which reduces the chance the shop could make a mistake.”
