We’re pleased to announce that our BIM Solutions and Tools4Revit Add-ons are all ready to use with Revit 2023! Our BIM Application Engineers have tested the TOOLS4BIM DOCK against the latest Revit version to ensure complete compatibility.
Follow the instructions below to get our tools up and running in Revit 2023.
The visual programming interface of Dynamo enables designers with the tools to extract, manipulate, and move Building Information Model (BIM) data in ways that make optimized workflows accessible. Dynamo for Revit opens up an unprecedented parametric approach to projects.
With Dynamo as a visual programming tool, algorithms are connected to Revit’s parametric database, which determines conceptual design development via formulas, algorithms, and geometric functions and integration with Revit for optimization, automation, and documentation.
Revit users who design, build, operate, and maintain built environments often utilize Revit plugins to manage BIM data and enhance workflows. Now, it’s possible to engage the functionality of AGACAD’s BIM Solutions and Tools4Revit Add-ons while using Dynamo. Here’s how!
To those who’ve been waiting to hear this announcement – thank you for your patience! Our BIM Application Engineers have been testing the Tools4BIM DOCK* against Revit 2022 to ensure complete compatibility. And now we’re pleased to announce that our BIM Solutions and Tools4Revit Add-ons are all ready to use with Revit 2022!
We’ve been diligently testing our Tools4BIM DOCK* against Revit 2021 to ensure complete compatibility of all the BIM Solutions and Tools4Revit Add-ins therein. Thanks for your patience, those of you who’ve been awaiting the pronouncement. We’re glad to say our tools are ready to use with Revit 2021!
*The Dock is an interactive window in Autodesk® Revit® that allows you to access and manage all software products developed by AGACAD to help you get more out of Revit. Read more about the Tools4BIM Dock.
Here’s how to get our tools running on Revit 2021.
For current users of our software
To companies/individuals who have an active license maintenance/subscription of at least one of our tools, we’ve sent an email containing software activation codes and a link to download our 2021 Tools4BIM Dock. (If you can’t find it in your inbox, please check your spam folder.)
NB: If you’re with a company, please ask your BIM manager or IT coordinator for these codes.
This regional office of a major engineering consultancy which does a lot of MEP work was struggling with poor sprinkler-design functionality in Revit®. AGACAD’s Smart Sprinklers (now called Fire Sprinkler) software proved to be an ideal solution, saving the company a great deal of time and enhancing its overall BIM capabilities.
Client Profile
NDY (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd is a licensee of the NDY Group, a global engineering consultancy based in Australia known for using a collaborative approach to design in order to deliver coordinated 3D spatial solutions within a fully integrated BIM model.
Sometimes Autodesk® Revit® files become corrupt and nobody knows why. We faced the situation then Project Information button became inactive (greyed). This can affect your printing sheets and title blocks because of the parameters that should be written in this location. But this is not the worst thing. This can affect some of third party’s tools for Revit as well.
AGACAD’s tools are built to use this Project Information parameter to insert some necessary parameters into the project. If Project Information button is greyed – that means AGACAD’s tools won’t work correctly. For example, our BIM solution Cut Opening couldn’t see .xml file where all required information is written, or Revit plug-in RAS Manager couldn’t insert spaces by all rooms automatically, etc.
If this situation occurs in one project only – we have the solution for it. If this occurs in all your projects – this is a Revit bug. In this case – please contact your Autodesk software reseller or Autodesk technical team.
Now let’s come back to the first situation, when the Project Information button becomes inactive in only one project. To fix the project bug, please follow the instruction below:Read more »
Projects can usually last for a long time and in the end of the projects you can feel your productivity decline. Even MEP engineers get the project when the deadline is NOW. It is normal and usual problem for big projects. The projects become boring and it seems that everything is done but still you have to do documentation things. We have solutions to increase productivity in this case. We automated some documentation tasks that can increase your work productivity. So these tools can make you happy.
AGACAD has different productivity-boosting products but the most memorable and easy to use is little documentation tools. I will shortly introduce them from MEP Engineer’s perspective:Read more »
Compact access to all AGACAD TOOLS4BIM product management directly from your workstation – closer than ever
Eliminating the tasks that do not bring value
Take the pain out of managing AGACAD TOOLS4BIM applications: Simply upload your tools for Revit® and always work with up-to-date versions, try out other AGACAD products, get the newest information and help – all of this is just a few mouse clicks away.
What Dock Is and Why It’s Worth to Use
TOOLS4BIM Dock is a new interactive window in Autodesk® Revit® that you can use to access and manage all AGACAD developed Revit apps and BIM solutions. This tool manager is very practical and a powerful way to simplify Revit apps installation, activation and usage.
Install Any or All Products at Once
Formerly, by the previous AGACAD product installation procedure, each tool for Revit had to be installed and activated separately. Moreover, Revit user had to keep in mind to close Revit before installing procedure. It is now possible to easily install any desired product or all of them at once. It is also very simple to activate tools: you just have to click the Activate button. No more serial numbers but activation codes instead.
Big BIM Solution Layers in a Compact Environment
Previously all the Revit apps were visible in the Revit ribbon separately, each as a special menu tab. AGA CAD owns over 30 applications for Revit so you can imagine how long the ribbon can be… Now all tools are visible in the TOOLS4BIM Dock dashboard, the TOOLS 4 BIM tab is only placed in the Revit Ribbon. You can easily show Dock or hide it from this tab:
The TOOLS4BIM Dock works as a separate window likewise does the Properties palette or the Project Browser in Revit. Position of the Dock window can be changed along the user wishes: you can place Dock dialog to any Revit workplace, the same as with Properties or Project Browser window (on the left/right side of the screen, move to a second monitor or simply deactivate view):Read more »
Autodesk® Revit® users are quite familiar with work in collaboration with different parts of the project (ex. Architects and MEP Engineers).
Usually they are linking architecture model to MEP model or otherwise. The architects add needed information such as number and name. The same information should appear in spaces. Moreover, if there are hundreds of rooms it can take way too long to type each one by hand. We have a few suggestions for transferring room information into spaces (using Revit by itself or with Revit app):Read more »
AGA CAD is a software developer that is looking for the fastest and the most convenient way to work in Autodesk® Revit®. AGA CAD software is specialized in various fields like: architecture, structure, MEP, analysis, etc. This time I want to tell about MEP part of Revit.
AGA CAD is creating professional BIM solutions for MEP engineers that work with Autodesk Revit. I can count over 10 products that can help MEP engineers in their everyday workflow. Our main goal is to find the weakest points in Revit and develop the solution that will increase work productivity in such cases. Some of these solutions can increase work productivity but some of them can open new features that even Revit does not have.
In this article I will list some of AGA CAD’s MEP created solutions:Read more »
