The Easiest Way to Create Intrinsic Revit Elevation

Last week we received a few similar questions about Cut Opening Pro. Users of this BIM solution asked me why Cut Opening Pro does not have possibility to show intrinsic elevation of the opening. But it has! As I see not all Cut Opening Pro users know how to do this, so today I will answer to Revit user questions such as: What I am looking for is an intrinsic elevation of the Face openings above their respective reference planes. Do you provide this capability?

We also received an analogous question from Revit user from Russia: В спецификации Revit’а необходимо видеть такие значения как отметка высоты низа отверстия, как можно решить данный вопрос?

As previously mentioned, Cut Opening Pro has this possibility. I am going to explain how to use it.

Simple Way to Show Top & Bottom Spot Elevation on Windows or Doors on a Plan View

Several days ago we received an interesting question: “Do you know any tool of tools4revit that can do a Top & Bottom spot elevation on windows, doors, etc. on a Plan view? Spot elevation works fine on pipes, walls, columns, etc. – but we need to show the top and bottom elevation on holes made in the walls”.

I decided to answer this question publicly to show the easiest way to solve this problem.

I agree that “Spot Elevation” is not good solution to show elevations on holes. However we have a solution: Read more »

FAQ: How to Adjust Dimensions in Revit to Each Door Properly to the Legend View?

I would like to share some information with you that might be of possible interest to other Autodesk® Revit® users, especially for those who are already using the Dynamic Legend extension.

One of questions which I often get from my clients is:Dimensions of the detail component do not adjust properly to the dimensions of each door (it keeps always with the same shape and dimensions). How can I adjust them?”

Answer: The dimensions of the detail component do not adjust properly to the dimensions of each door, because you need to follow these two rules:

1st: Size parameters in the frame have to be the same as it is in your doors. If you use not English Revit or you have created your own size parameters, then these parameters have to be changed in the frame family.

How to Easily Make a Window Based Distribution of Radiators in Autodesk® Revit®?

R-Heating

The headache I will talk about today is known to all MEP engineers. Calculation, selection and distribution of radiators in rooms become a huge hardship as the projects get bigger. Not to mention the comparability possibilities of radiators. When calculations are done and selections are made, designer sticks to on manufacturer and only few radiator models which usually exceed the design requirements by 5 to sometimes 20-30 percent. That is a huge waste of money and comfort. So that is why R-Heating application for Autodesk® Revit® is here to help you.

FAQ: How to Create a Block with Parameter Driven Text in Revit?

Dynamic Legend is a powerful Autodesk® Revit® Architecture/Structure/MEP extension that allows designers to quickly create, modify and update legends for Revit elements. It is time-saving software that is used by many Revit users worldwide. Using this add-in each Revit user can create & update intelligent legends and specifications per different legend pages. Automation of fire protection design in Autodesk® Revit®

Smart Sprinklers

There are always one or two headlines in daily papers about people killed in blaze. It is a great concern. These lives could be certainly saved by proper fire protection. The average death toll in the world is 10.7 people per million residents. This figure is different in various countries, e.g. it was only 2 in Switzerland and 18 in Finland by 2007. The fact is that one person is already too much.Read more »
