How to Place One Hanger on MEP Element in Revit® Model?

Smart Hangers is a complete BIM solution for Revit® that can distribute any kind of hangers or supports on each MEP line based element and generic models. This application is developed in compliance with different standards that state hangers should be distributed on elements starting and end points with some offsets and some hangers in the middle of MEP line based elements with maximal distance between them.

But sometimes MEP engineers face a situation when they need to insert only one hanger on MEP element. Can the Smart Hangers application be used in that situation?

We have a rule in Smart Hangers that can place hangers by maximal distance between elements without first and last hangers:

You can copy this rule and change Layout Rule and Layout Value:

This will help you place one hanger on little elements as you need.

In conclusion, I want to remind that using Smart Hangers you do not need to distribute hanging or supporting elements for line based MEP objects like duct, pipe, cable tray, or conduits manually. Smart Hangers is looking for the pipe or duct size as well as the insulation placed on them. The distributed supporting elements will be attached to any type of construction as well. Therefore, BIM solution Smart Hangers is a great helper for all MEP engineers who generate MEP models with Revit.
