Hello dear clients, users and the rest blog readers! Today I want to introduce some new Revit® families that we have created for Smart Hangers solution. As the most frequent question on Smart Hangers solution is multiple run hanger – we have created exactly what you need in lots of cases.
What is multiple run hanger? These kind of hangers are used to support several pipes, conduits or ducts simultaneously. In real life we usually use unistrut hangers to support several runs of MEP elements. Because this kind of profile is light, easily cut into smaller pieces and easily joined with other hanger elements.
Our developed families are suitable for hanging and supporting all MEP line based elements that are in Revit. We have Round Duct Hanger, Rectangle Duct Hanger, Pipe Hanger, Cable Tray Hanger and Conduit Hanger as well as Round Duct support, Rectangle Duct support, Pipe support, Cable Tray support and Conduit support.
The difference between these families lies in Revit Categories and connection directions. All working categories are listed above. Connection directions are: vertical for hangers (connection to roof, floor, etc.) and horizontal for supports (connection to the wall, column, etc.).

So, the Revit families are now made to fit any MEP category and can be used as multiple run hangers. We added new parameters that show distance to the left (Length Left) and distance to the right (Length Right) from the family center. Now users are able to place hangers automatically on one of the MEP line based elements and stretch them to required width.
All the families are placed in our Smart Hangers’ Sample Projects. For trial versions we provide only Unistruts for Pipes, but full version of the project contains all the families (Hangers and Duct, Cable Tray and Conduit Supports).
