AGA CAD Ltd together with its partners from the Baltic States and Netherlands has successfully completed the BIM-TRAIN project. This project was partly financed by European Union’s Leonardo da Vinci Innovation Transfer programme “Lifelong Learning Programme”.
The main problem that the BIM-TRAIN project encountered was a lack of relevant skills, knowledge and tools related to BIM in both higher education and business sectors, which did not allow representatives of structural industry to exploit all of BIM possibilities during the building construction process. The objective of the project was “Transfer of Building Information Modelling Training Tool for Increasing Competence of Building Sector Competence”.
During the BIM-TRAIN project, new innovative online training system was created, which provides methodical videos about building information modeling (BIM) and integrated project development (IPD). A lot of valuable video content was prepared, from the developed SMART Revit methodology, and used as a basis by this project partner from Netherlands, Itannex. From now on digital BIM training materials will be used in the universities of Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania, and to train project team members of the Baltic States’ business companies.
The BIM training materials (BIM tools and methodologies) of this online training system will be elaborated and expanded in the future having a purpose to increase the relevant BIM understanding and skills among individuals and organizations in construction and educational sectors.
