Questions Often Asked About Revit® App Sort Mark

Dozens of various queries have landed in my in-box this year. Today I’ve decided to collect some of the most frequently asked questions about Revit app Sort Mark those can be answered shortly.

The Revit extension Sort Mark dramatically speeds up the Revit project documentation process, therefore this add-in is one of the most popular tools4revit products and we get many queries about it.

So here’s an attempt at answering the most popular questions.

Q: Can the single mark numbers have two or more digits, example 09A instead of 9A?

A: Yes, sure you can add, for example 2 digits near “Calculated: Sort Mark Number” in Sort Mark tab:

Sort Mark-single mark number 1

Result:

Sort Mark-single mark number 2

Other popular question: With the ‘elevations calculation’. Do I need to do it regularly or just once? When I add new wallsinto my Revit project, will they have the shared parameter added to them with the elevation data?

A: If you add a new wall then the shared parameter will be automatically added, but you will need to update the value. So you need to go to Sort Mark > Calculate Elevation and just select the existing shared parameter. The Revit values will be updated then.

The time-saving Sort Mark extension for Autodesk® Revit® allows you to sort/renumber elements in different ways and write additional information to any selected Revit element. It automatically sorts hundreds of graphical, architectural and structural elements. If you have any question about this Revit add-on, please contact us or leave a comment here.
