​Updated Metal Framing Wall+ Helps Design Every Detail of Metal Frame Construction Accurately

Today a new update was released of our powerful BIM solution Metal Framing Wall+ for light gauge steel framed system design. This application for Autodesk® Revit® for metal framed system creation includes new powerful functionally that:

  • enables distribution of any details/holes in the frame using different insertion rules;
  • supports both C+C (incl. C+C Chamfered) and C+U (incl. C+U Special) framing systems;
  • allows control of bridging / nogging placement;
  • allows Revit users to build their own header types and many more.

Also you can find new Revit families of framed wall details in this Metal Framing Wall+ edition. So, this BIM solution, that’s improved under our clients’ requests, now is more powerful and convenient to use. Please take a look what’s new in Metal Framing Wall+ v2015.5 and v2014.5:

  • 1. Metal Framing Wall+ now supports both C+C (incl. C+C Chamfered) and C+U (incl. C+U Special) framing systems.

  • 3. Added possibility to add two additional continuous Bridging, Nogging or Blocking into the frame using different rules:

For example, there are noggings and strap families inserted automatically using different insertion rules:

  • 4. Added an option to control Bridging and Nogging placement. It can go throughout the frame, throughout except openings and only throughout the openings:

  • 5. Added an option to add secondary Bridging, Nogging or Blocking:

  • 6. Powerful functionally is included to distribute any details/holes in the frame. You can very easy predefine different insertion rules for 4 detail families:

Note: Simpson families are added as sample families. You can use your own families if required.

For example, a clip angle family added automatically and attached to the open face of the C+C stud and bottom plate:

  • 7. Strap bracing family is improved with added Gusset connectors:

Note: you can modify or use your own families if required.

  • 8. Added “Update Framing by Wall Link” and “Update Opening by Wall Link” features that reframes frame or selected opening frames to the default that is configured under “Framing Configuration”:

  • 9. Added “Save Configuration w/o Openings” feature that saves configuration of selected frame except opening framing. This feature of Metal Framing Wall+ is very useful if you have already framed wall and you lost configuration that was used for this wall. Configurations needed to frame new walls:

You just need to select any frame from a wall and save configuration under your name:

Now you will be able to use this configuration for new or existing walls:
